Harper played well. Lay this one on the pass rush.

Harper was the catch-22 of the game. He (and many others) had problems wrapping their arms. Ducking his head on the 2nd qtr TD run should never happen. But at the same time, he probably led the team in tackles. That meant that OU was getting outside and deep too often.

Trial balloon. Anyone remember the inception of the Big 12, discussion about how the league would eventually be dominated by Texas teams and the South? Tom Osborne said something like that as well as the idea of a championship game would cost the North division money. The thinking being that so much talent comes out of Texas and if you just look at population distribution Texas dominates. That being said, what do you all think about an East/West reallingment of the Big 12?????????

Gassers only to the DB's is really inappropriate, and doesn't look very deep. Bradford picked apart the secondary because he was rarely pressured/had all day to wait for receivers to get open. This is the same thing that happened 2 years ago, and the same blame was dumped on the DB's for the most part.A Gasser needs to go to the 3rd down play calling. Third and long is tough, so those are understandable, but we had several 3rd and short yardage situations where we attempted 10+ yard players that have a much lower probability of success. Coach Mangino has talked about being and staying aggressive, but swinging for homeruns when a single gives you at least 3 more chances isn't aggressive or smart.

Someone also needs to let Coach Mangino know that he is the most recognizable person on the KU sideline. He draws attention to whatever it is he does just by him being the head caoch. While a player may need an earful at times, he does not need it in front of millions of people - the entire nation. He has assistants for a reason, let them do the coaching the need to do. There isn't one of them that would be picked out of a crowd, so they would be able to scream their heads off at a player and be completely noticed, and the kid will be spared the embarassment that does no one any good. There is a reason that performance evaluations are not performed in open meetings.

dagger108: This isn't intramurals. This is Big XII football.Embarassment is a powerful motivator. If a kid is concerned about being embarassed on national tv because of his stupidity on the playing field, then he probably shouldn't be playing football in the most difficult conference of the most difficult division in the country.
