Scoring Summary: KU-Nebraska

FIRST QUARTER

9:04: Nebraska - Joe Ganz 3 touchdown run (Jake Wesch kick) - 7-0

-After Nebraska tipped a Kyle Tucker punt following a Jayhawk three-and-out to start the game, Joe Ganz was impressive right from go under center. He hit Maurice Purify under pressure on a third-and-10 for 18 yards to set up first-and-goal. Three snaps later, Ganz laid out over the goal line for the game's first points.

6:38: Kansas - Kerry Meier 13 pass from Todd Reesing (Scott Webb kick) - 7-7

-Todd Reesing was 3-of-6 on the drive for 63 yards, as KU maintained its reputation by answering another opponents' score in quick fashion. For Kerry Meier, it was his first career TD catch, coming on a sharp slant route.

4:58: Nebraska - Marlon Lucky 62 pass from Joe Ganzy (Jake Wesch kick) - 14-7

-Marlon Lucky was wide open in the flat, and was able to evade Kendrick Harper's attempt to drag him down from behind along the sideline, putting Nebraska back up by a touchdown.

3:16: Kansas - Brandon McAnderson 2 run (Scott Webb kick) - 14-14

-The key play, other than Marcus Herford's 49-yard kickoff return, was a reverse with two running backs next to Todd Reesing on second down at the Nebraska 25. The ball was flipped to Marcus Henry, who took it to the two-yard line. A pass interference call in the end zone two plays later set up an easy TD run for McAnderson.

1:00: Kansas - Jake Sharp 26 pass from Todd Reesing (Scott Webb kick) - 21-14

-Todd Reesing set the single-season KU record for touchdown passes on the play, finding the end zone through the air for the 19th time this season. It surpassed Bill Whittemore's 2003 total of 18. Sharp had two steps on his defender while streaking down the right sideline, making the catch in space with ease.

SECOND QUARTER

10:34: Kansas - Brandon McAnderson 9 run (Scott Webb kick) - 28-14

-Brandon McAnderson carefully slipped in along the right side for his second touchdown of the game. He has 13 yards on six carries, but two touchdowns. KU has scored a touchdown on four straight drives since its three-and-out to open the game.

9:44: Nebraska - Maurice Purify 19 pass from Joe Ganz (Jake Wesch kick) - 28-21

-Purify's TD catch was impressive, coming in mid-air over Aqib Talib. It was his second big snare of the drive, having taken a pass over the middle for 60 yards to start the drive and set up the score.

8:30: Kansas - Marcus Henry 5 pass from Todd Reesing (Scott Webb kick) - 35-21

-Henry's TD catch was just the dessert, with the main course being the 41-yard pass he hauled in a play earlier on a rope over the middle from Reesing. The touchdown pass made Todd Reesing the first KU quarterback ever with 20 TD tosses in a season.

2:43: Kansas - Brandon McAnderson 1 run (Scott Webb kick) - 42-21

-Brandon McAnderson's third touchdown run of the game tied a Nebraska record for points allowed in the first half of a ball game. McAnderson has 48 yards today, and five touchdowns in the last two weeks.

1:16: Kansas - Dezmon Briscoe 14 pass from Todd Reesing (kick failed) - 48-21

-Todd Reesing's fourth touchdown pass of the game was set up by a John Larson interception, which followed a Caleb Blakesley deflection of a Joe Ganz pass. Dezmon Briscoe made a nice cut move at the five to propel himself across the goal line.

:12: Nebraska - Jake Wesch 27 field goal - 48-24

-The drive was stymied inside the 20 thanks to a false start call and nice KU pass coverage. The 48 points Nebraska allowed, though, was the most ever allowed by a Husker team in the first half of a ball game.

THIRD QUARTER

11:39: Nebraska - Maurice Purify 14 pass from Joe Ganz (Jake Wesch kick) - 48-31

-Maurice Purify caught his second touchdown pass against Aqib Talib, this time pulling it down with one hand on a fade in the back of the end zone. He has 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Joe Ganz has thrown for 339 yards.

8:17: Kansas - Dezmon Briscoe 14 pass from Todd Reesing (Scott Webb kick) - 55-31

-Todd Reesing tied a school record with his fifth touchdown pass of the game, while it was a team-leading sixth touchdown catch for Dezmon Briscoe on the season.

5:45: Kansas - Dezmon Briscoe 7 pass from Todd Reesing (Scott Webb kick) - 62-31

-Briscoe scored his third TD of the game, this time over the middle after finding an open spot in the secondary right at the goal line. Reesing's six touchdown passes in the game have set another KU record.

3:34: Kansas - Jake Sharp 11 run (Scott Webb kick) - 69-31

-KU scored a touchdown for the 10th straight possession, and this time it was set up by a Darrell Stuckey fumble recovery. It was Sharp's second touchdown of the game, with the first coming on a 26-yard catch.

FOURTH QUARTER

11:12: Kansas - Brandon McAnderson 6 run (Scott Webb kick) - 76-31

-McAnderson's fourth - yes, fourth - touchdown run of the day set a new record in terms of the most points ever allowed by a Nebraska team. The previous high was 70.

4:26: Nebraska - Maurice Purify 7 pass from Joe Ganz (Joe Ganz two-point pass to Nate Swift) - 76-39

-Maurice Purify's third touchdown catch came with the game well out of reach. Though Purify on the day has seven catches for 157 yards and three touchdowns.

For those outside the TV area, tune in the radio on your computer! Go to Laser.com and punch in the 'listeners club'; then hit the area under Google. Our own Bob Davis as announcer. No charge.

Great for those far away!

6 years, 12 months ago

We look flat early. We'll get it straightened out.

DueFan 6 years, 12 months ago

6 years, 12 months ago

Nice scoring drive. Let's get a 3 & out on D, now.

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

How many times have we done that this year? Answer an opposing score? That is what makes this team so good.

6 years, 12 months ago

DueFan, try KLZR on the internet.

afilmer 6 years, 12 months ago

15000? where on earth are you duefan?

6 years, 12 months ago

That wasn't the 3 & out I was talking about. Dang.

afilmer 6 years, 12 months ago

son of a .... - how could we loose our assignments on that screen?

DueFan 6 years, 12 months ago

Let's say I am far, real far from my beloved Lawrence

afilmer 6 years, 12 months ago

esro 6 years, 12 months ago

I wish I was back on the Hill cheering on the Hawks...I'm only 500 miles away, its just not the same listening on the radio.

Do you think the Mizzou game will be nationally televised?

6 years, 12 months ago

Another nice offensive possession. Time for our D to step it up!

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

And again, another answer. This team is incredble.

afilmer 6 years, 12 months ago

MU at CU is on Fox Sports Regional unless you're in western KS, MO or CO - NO

esro 6 years, 12 months ago

I mean, KU/Mizzou game

CU is gonna get smoked unfortunately

6 years, 12 months ago

That was the 3 & out I was talking about! Now, let's punish their defense with some run plays. Nice catch by Fine, by the way.

6 years, 12 months ago

Okay, some pass plays will work too :)

DueFan 6 years, 12 months ago

It's always good to be able to come back like that. But we can't count on that always against quality teams, speaking of MU offcourse.

6 years, 12 months ago

DueFan, where were you able to find the game?

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

Sorry but we have only trailed for 23 minutes all year. So, I think its good to show that we can respond. And we have done it all year. We can count on it, that's the great thing about this team.

6 years, 12 months ago

Webb sometimes makes me nervous on punt returns...

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

Wow, what happened to that Nebraska D?

6 years, 12 months ago

Okay, this is more like it! Good points by the way, KUglow.

We are going to hang 60 on Nebraska today. Now, we may give up 50 but their D is horrible.

ameraidi 6 years, 12 months ago

LETS GO HAAAAAAAAWWWKS

WAVIN THE WHEAT ALL THE WAY FROM DUBAI :)

6 years, 12 months ago

It looks like us scoring 60 today may be a conservative estimate, now.

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

I'm not one for running up scores on opponents BUT sytle points count in the BCS AND how sweet would it be to hang 70 on this team.

afilmer 6 years, 12 months ago

if we hang 70 on the blackshirts ---- we better crack top 5

even if they're shirts are little pinkish

bring on the tigers

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

Just read on the Star's site this is the most points ever by a KU team against the Huskers. And we did it in one half. This season just gets more unbelievable.

beebe1 6 years, 12 months ago

DueF -- if you can get laser.com on the internet, you should make it work. The secret seems to be asking for the 'listener club' and the start point comes up. It is to the right of the aerial, below the DMarc box that has Laser 105.9 in the box. Give it 30 to 40 secs to download and it should work.

Best wishes to you in your endeavor. Apparently no one thinks the world is 15ooo miles around, you are closer to home going the other way. You have to be on a meridian that goes thru India. Not only good luck, but due your duty with care.

We care about YOU!

beebe1 6 years, 12 months ago

Sorry, that's 25000 miles around. 15000 is more than half way -- unless you're in Australia. Bangkok is about 10000 miles away and it his half way round the clock. Hope you enjoy the game a 2:00 AM!

6 years, 12 months ago

Who stole our pass D and when are they giving them back?

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

Hate to say this but Webb's missed PAT could cost us 70. Damn!

6 years, 12 months ago

No problem, KUglow. We still have a whole other quarter to add to our total!

6 years, 12 months ago

Whole other quarter, heck - - we still have 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter!

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

Maybe we should think of saving some points for Stillwater? Nah.

KUglow 6 years, 12 months ago

No matter how bad NU is this score is going to shock people around the country. Get ready to scoot over, the bandwagon takes on more weight this week.

6 years, 12 months ago

Most points ever allowed by Nebraska. Amazing.

seattlehawk_78 6 years, 12 months ago

That was the most dominating offensive performance I have ever seen. It was men playing boys. They absolutely had their way with the Nebraska defense. They could have told them what play they were running and it wouldn't have made a difference.

One question, who were those players on the field impersonating the KU defense?

Ted Toulouse 6 years, 12 months ago

Hey everyone, ESPN is doing a fan vote for the Heisman and Reesing is NOT listed. But there is an "Other" option for you to nominate/vote for someone else. I say we bombard them with Reesing votes so that they have to include him on the list. Click the link and get to voting!!
