Asked Saturday whether he would consider changing his coaching style if asked to by school administrators, Kansas University coach Mark Mangino indicated he doesn’t feel there’s any problem with the manner in which he runs his program.

“I’m confident in my ability and I feel good about everything that I’ve done,” he said. “When I was hired at Kansas, they told me that they desperate needed structure and discipline in the football program. The people that hired me said it was the key point. And I’ve done that the right way and I feel good about it and proud of the way I’ve dealt with our players in the program.”

Mangino also said Saturday associate athletic director/risk management Lori Williams, who’s leading the investigation, has not yet interviewed him as part of the investigation.

Will she?

“I don’t know the details of the review, but I assume Lori wants to speak to him,” athletic director Lew Perkins’ chief spokesman, associate athletic director Jim Marchiony, said Saturday.
