The Kansas football team added another piece to its future offensive line on Monday evening with the commitment of Nick Vecrumba.

Vecrumba is listed at 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds and hails from Brownsburg, Indiana. He is the Jayhawks’ second straight commitment from the state of Indiana after New Palestine tight end Mason Oglesby, and the second offensive lineman overall after Derek Gonzalez from California, who was the first player in the 2027 class.

Vecrumba announced his decision in a post on X. He picked KU over offers from Kansas State, Louisville, South Florida, Wake Forest and others, and had been slated for upcoming visits to Louisville and South Florida. He is expected to take an official visit to Lawrence from June 12-14, but according to multiple reports he already made an unofficial visit over the weekend prior to announcing his commitment.

“I love Kansas and everything about it, from the coaches all the way to Lawrence itself,” Vecrumba told Jon Kirby of JayhawkSlant.com. “I have a great relationship with Coach (Daryl Agpalsa), and I can definitely see myself playing for him and getting developed.”

Brownsburg has won consecutive state titles in Indiana’s 6A classification. It is the same high school from which KU recruited former quarterback Ben Easters.

In Vecrumba and Gonzalez, KU now has two incoming freshmen on the offensive line for 2027, a position group in which only one player, veteran reserve James Livingston, is set to exhaust his eligibility after the 2026 season.

“It feels great to be committed, especially right before finals and summer too,” Vecrumba told Kirby. “I have a great opportunity ahead of me, so it’s nice to see all my hard work (in) recruiting has paid off and I can finally relax.”
