Kansas forward Perry Ellis (34) puts up a shot over Iowa State forward Georges Niang (31) during the second half on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at Hilton Coliseum.

**1 – Perry Ellis:** Played with a better motor than many teammates. Hit the deck for loose balls, worked hard to get open, hustled for boards and hit big shots. Finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

**2 – Frank Mason III:** Missed four minutes of second half after a severe leg cramp near his right knee and still led both teams in scoring with 21 points. Added 4 rebounds and 3 assists, but also 3 turnovers.

**3 – Wayne Selden Jr.:** Finished a couple of shots in close, which signified progress, and tallied 12 points and 3 assists in 32 minutes. He wasn’t completely on offensively, but he never stopped competing.

**4 – Kelly Oubre Jr.:** Made just 5 of 15 shots, most of them on easy dunks, and turned it over twice. But still managed 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 26 minutes.

**5 – Cliff Alexander:** After a slow start, Alexander was one of the Jayhawks’ best players in the first half. He made all three shots he attempted, finished the half with 6 points and 6 rebounds and gave KU something that resembled a presence at the rim. Unfortunately for the Jayhawks, Self was not happy with Alexander’s “motor” and the big guy played just 2 minutes in the second half and did not add a thing to his stat line.

**6 – Devonté Graham:** Playing in his first ever Big 12 road game, Graham struggled early on but kept his head up and plowed forward for 10 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in 20 minutes..

**7 – Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk:** Played just five minutes and never got his stroke going enough to warrant more time. Finished with 3 points and 2 fouls on 1-of-4 shooting.

**8 – Hunter Mickelson:** With Alexander on the bench, Jamari Traylor ineffective and Landen Lucas and Ellis in foul trouble, the reserve forward grabbed 4 rebounds in 3 minutes.

**9 – Jamari Traylor:** Missed all 5 shots he attempted and picked up two bonehead fouls in 15 minutes.

**10 – Brannen Greene:** Checked in early but never really connected with the game. Missed the only shot he attempted and grabbed two rebounds in five minutes.

**11 – Landen Lucas:** Played 19 minutes, but you’d never know it from looking at his stat line. Zero points, zero shots, zero rebounds and 4 fouls jumped off the page next to his 2 assists and 3 turnovers.
