Kansas volleyball was unable to pull off the upset against the No. 3 Baylor Wednesday, falling in straight sets (25-19, 26-24, 25-18) inside the Ferrell Center.

After falling behind 1-0, the Jayhawks were looking to even up the match in the second set as they fought their way to a 24-21 advantage over the Bears. Baylor managed to rally off five straight points to take set two 26-24 and a 2-0 advantage.

The third and ultimately final set was controlled from beginning to end by the Bears as they completed the sweep with the 25-18 set victory.

Senior Ashley Smith did her best to keep Kansas in the game, finishing with a team-high 10 kills on the night to go along with two blocks. Senior Allie Nelson continued to climb up the all-time KU digs ladder as she finished with a team-best 11.

Kansas (7-15, 3-9 Big 12) plays host to Kansas State at 1 p.m. Saturday.
