KU baseball tops No. 20 St. John’s in series opener

The Kansas baseball team produced seven hits and six runs against St. John’s All-American pitcher Sean Mooney and earned a 7-4 victory at Hoglund Ballpark on Friday in the series opener.

The Jayhawks scored five runs in the third inning, helped by a two-run homer from Owen Taylor and an RBI double by James Cosentino.

KU (9-4) will continue its three-game series against No. 20-ranked St. John’s at 2 p.m. today.
