? Lily Behrmann and Chaley Brickey each homered and doubled, and Kansas University’s softball team routed Stetson, 10-1, on Saturday in the Stetson Classic.

Earlier Saturday, the Jayhawks suffered their second loss of the season, 4-0 to Chattanooga.

“We had a tough game earlier offensively. We were not locked in,” KU coach Megan Smith said. “They came out and accepted our challenge of having better at-bats and stringing them together. I’m really proud of the way our team bounced back.”

Against Stetson, Behrmann, Brickey, Maddie Stein and Shannon McGinley each had two hits for the Jayhawks (20-2).

“Lily is a total player,” Smith said of Behrmann. “She can use her speed, she can use her power. What she’s doing offensively for us is huge. She’s a big part of our lineup, and when she does well, we do well as a team.”

KU collected just three hits in its loss to Chattanooga, as Cori Jennings handed the Jayhawks their first shutout loss of the season. Jennings (5-1) struck out six.

Briana Evans, Taylor McElhaney and Stein were the only Jayhawks with hits.

“Offensively, we made zero adjustments,” Smith said, “but I have to give a lot of credit to their pitcher. Their pitcher threw a phenomenal game, and whoever was calling the game did an excellent job keeping our batters off-balance. I’m upset that we didn’t make adjustments, but I have to give credit to a job well done by their staff.”
