Woodland makes late push, avoids second-round cut at British Open

? Former Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland birdied five of his last 10 holes to make the cut Friday in the British Open.

Woodland carded an opening-round 73 on Thursday and started the second round at four over par before finishing at an even 70. Woodland, who sits in a tie at 68th overall, tees off the third round at 3:10 a.m. CDT today.
