Don’t have any photos. Rituals include having biscuits and gravy on game day of the NCAA tourney. This started in 1986 because there was a Bob Evans across the parking lot from where the team stayed in Louisville. The times that we played a game in St. Louis, we would leave early enough to hit the Bob Evans on the west side of town.
In 1988, my husband and I attended all of the games in the NCAA tournament. We took our daughter with us to Lincoln, we flew to Detroit and then were lucky enough to get tickets to Kemper.
We have to wear a shirt that has a win in it for the tournament. I didn’t have one on at the start of Sunday’s game and in fact, did go change into my KU shirt that I received at the KU-K-State game.
Our tickets in the fieldhouse used to be in Section C before the seating arrangement changed. One year in Louisville, we parked our vehicle in Section C for good luck!
Yes, we have a room in our home filled with most of our ticket stubs from the tournaments we have attended, lots of memorabilia from the 1988 season, an autographed basketball from 1984, and pictures with Danny Manning and Greg Ostertag.
Yes, we are KU basketball fanatics!
