The Keegan Ratings
'Sparky' leads the charge
After each KU football game this season, this is where you can find out the gridiron equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He'll rate the Top 10 Jayhawk individual performances, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel. (Scoring: Each week, the top player in the ratings will be awarded 10 points. Second best gets nine points. Third best gets eight points, and so on and so on. The season standings are at the bottom)
1. Todd Reesing: Threw three interceptions, but shook of a poor first quarter to improve his record as a starter to 5-0. Was at his best each time Kansas fell behind.
2. Anthony Collins: Every quarterback must have a body guard. Reesing has the best one in the Big 12.
3. James McClinton: He pushed the pocket all afternoon and hurried Josh Freeman.
4. John Larson: Credited with two-and-a-half tackles for loss, he was in the backfield consistently in the first half.
5. Joe Mortensen: Did a great job of stuffing the run and finished with 11 tackles.
6. Aqib Talib: Burned badly by Jordy Nelson for the game’s first score and allowed a number of completions in his area, but finished strong by getting the game-clinching interception. Earlier, scored a touchdown for the sixth game in a row, this time on a reception.
7. Brandon McAnderson: Battled for extra yards and generally was hard to bring down. Rushed for 81 yards and 6.8 yards per carry.
8. Jake Sharp: Rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown.
9. Ryan Cantrell: Assignment changed because of Kansas State’s 3-4 defense and he did a terrific job handling it.
10. Dexton Fields: A Reesing pass bounced off of his helmet and into a defender’s hands for an interception. He quickly redeemed himself with a 30-yard touchdown reception. Caught six passes for 78 yards and extended to 16 games his streak of games with at least two receptions.

I think I'd have to put James McClinton over Collins for this game, but it's a hell of a tough call.
I guess I could see that McClinton wasn't playing against the greatest offensive line, but Collins was playing against a great pass rush, so maybe that gives him the push.

is it just his release or does it seem like the ball slips as reesing releases it some of the time?

I'm not sure Reesing should have the #1 spot after 3 picks. Not trying to hate or anything, but 3 picks isn't the kind of day I had in mind. Still, great job leading the comeback and keeping his poise when things weren't going his way.

you can't really lay the third pick on reesing

Just think what kind of day Reesing would have had if receivers would have caught the ball. 2 more TDs(Briscoe and Fine) and one less INT (Fields) and well over 300 yards.
