Four-star prospect Tyty Washington, a highly coveted point guard from Compass Prep in Phoenix, has pegged May 15 as decision date.

Washington revealed the news on social media Tuesday morning by first announcing May 12 as the big day before later correcting himself with a tweet that said May 15 was the date to circle.

Kansas, which currently still has one scholarship available to hand out, is one of them. And Bill Self’s Jayhawks are joined by Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, LSU and Oregon in the talented guard’s final six.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound, do-everything point guard has seen his stock soar in the past couple of months after a strong spring and his de-commitment from Creighton.

KU was one of the first programs to get in on Washington after he announced his plans to de-commit, and, according to JayhawkSlant’s Shay Wildeboor, the Jayhawks are one of three programs expected to conduct a Zoom call with Washington and his family in the next 24 hours.

Arizona and Kentucky are the other two.

While some believe those are Washington’s three finalists, it’s worth noting that he has met virtually and had contact with all six of his final schools multiple times during the past several weeks.

Ranked No. 32 overall by Rivals.com — and as the nation’s sixth best point guard in the 2021 class — Washington is one of six remaining undecided players in the top 40 of the 2021 class.

That includes Nolan Hickman, a 6-2, 170-pound point guard from Wasatch Academy who recently de-committed from Kentucky.

The four-star Hickman is ranked No. 39 overall by Rivals.com and he received a lot of interest from KU before initially committing to Kentucky last August.
