Kansas coach David Beaty spoke to reporters following the team’s loss to Texas Friday afternoon at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. It marked Beaty’s final game of his coaching career at KU, which lasted four seasons.

“When you care about something, you should carry emotion,” Beaty said. “This place is special to me. We told the guys in the locker room after the game that it is time for them to step up and take this place to the next level.”

With the loss, Kansas (3-9, 1-8) wrapped up its 10th consecutive losing season. Beaty finished off his four-year career as the KU head coach with a 6-42 overall record, including just 2-34 against conference foes.
