Likens likes what he has seen from freshmen Willis and Booker

Kansas offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rob Likens discusses true freshman Ryan Willis’ first career start, against Baylor, praising the QB for not being intimidated and extending plays under pressure.

Likens also thinks freshman Jeremiah Booker didn’t play like a true freshman in his first game, and says the wide receiver has strong hands and tries to “rip the ball out of the sky.”

While looking up at the scoreboard isn’t “a lot of fun sometimes” for the Jayhawks, Likens thinks freshmen are gaining crucial experience.

The offensive coordinator also details his players’ mentality when fourth-and-short situations present themselves, as well as the need for a healthy Ke’aun Kinner at running back.
