Kansas guard Kelly Oubre, Jr. (12) attempts a steal from West Virginia guard Tarik Phillip (12) during the Jayhawks 62-61 loss to the Mountaineers Monday, February 16, 2105 in Morgantown, W.V.

**1 – Kelly Oubre Jr.:** Didn’t need to remind himself to play in attack mode agains the West Virginia press. Came out in that mode and played big part in Kansas coming back from big early deficit. Finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. On drive to the hoop in final minutes he lost his footing in the lane and threw up a hard shot that missed.

**2 – Frank Mason III:** Made 3 of 5 threes, scored 18 points, had a big steal, but his night was marred by a late defensive mistake and a late turnover.

**3 – Perry Ellis:** Had 19 points and five rebounds, but kicked himself all the way back to Kansas for not scoring on the game’s final play after Jamari Traylor set him up with a perfect baseball pass..

**4 – Landen Lucas:** Did the best job of any of KU’s bigs on the boards with six in 16 minutes and also blocked a shot and came up with a steal. Scored two points and had two turnovers. Missed a free throw late.

**5 – Wayne Selden Jr.:** Had three first-half turnovers and never got into the flow of the game offensively. Finished with four points, four rebounds and three assists..

**6 – Jamari Traylor:** Repeatedly was beaten on the boards on a night West Virginia had 22 offensive rebounds. Had just two defensive rebounds in 26 minutes on a night West Virginia missed 40 field-goal attempts. Made a great baseball pass to Ellis at the end of the game that might have led SportsCenter had Ellis been able to turn it into a bucket.

**7 – Cliff Alexander:** After six scoreless first-half minutes with just one rebound, did not start the second half. Self said afterward he did not think Alexander was ready to perform well against West Virginia’s trapping defense. Was exposed defensively by a driving Devin Williams.

**8 – Brannen Greene:** Bill Self didn’t like the guarded three he put up shortly after checking in and he checked back out after failing to corral a defensive rebound. Had defensive troubles when he checked back in. Also dribbled the ball.

**9 – Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk:** Nothing else was working early in the first half, so Self turned to Svi That didn’t work either. He played two minutes, missed a flat three-pointer and couldn’t snag a pair of defensive rebounds in his area.

**10 – Devonté Graham:** Played like a freshman who did not look ready for the sort of intense defensive pressure West Virginia brings. In five scoreless first-half minutes, he turned it over three times and had a steal.
