Kansas softball could not avoid a sweep at the hands of the No. 1 team in the country this weekend.
KU fell 8-2 in seven innings to No. 1 ranked Oklahoma, dropping all three games in the series.
Kansas took an early 1-0 lead and became the first conference opponent to score against OU in nine games. But OU plated two runs in the bottom of the first, and never trailed again.
Kasey Hamilton took the loss for KU, evening her record at 9-9 for the season. The Jayhawks were led on offense by Olivia Bruno, who hit her ninth home run of the season and had two RBIs.
KU fell to 4-11 in Big 12 play, and are tied for last in the seven-team conference. OU improved its record to 45-1 overall, and is undefeated in Big 12 play.
KU will host No. 19-ranked Wichita State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Arrocha Ballpark. KU will be trying to even the season series after Wichita State won the earlier meeting 9-3. The game will be streamed on ESPN+
