Thanks to a strong showing by the lineup, the Kansas baseball team went 3-1 during a four-game series at Omaha this past weekend. The Jayhawks (8-6) scored 33 total runs during the back-to-back doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
Kansas earned a 7-3 win over Omaha (5-8) in the series opener on Friday, thanks to a four-run outburst in the second frame. KU then dropped a 9-7 decision in the nightcap after surrendering five runs over the final two innings.
The Jayhawks bounced back to sweep the doubleheader on Saturday, starting with a 9-0 win in the third game. Cole Larsen pitched a complete-game shutout in that contest, giving up eight hits and recording six strikeouts in the process.
KU then closed out the weekend with a 10-7 win over Omaha in the series finale. Tavian Josenberger finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a career-high three RBI, while Dylan Ditzenberger and Jack Wagner each recorded two RBI.
Kansas will travel to Missouri State at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
