Despite late rally attempt, KU softball falls to No. 11 Texas

By Staff Report     Apr 28, 2019

On Senior Day and the final home game of the season for the Kansas softball team, a seventh-inning rally against No. 11 Texas fell short at Arrocha Ballpark. Texas earned the 4-2 victory, but was challenged late.

Kansas senior Brynn Minor pitched a complete game, and showed her grit and determination after taking a ball off her throwing hand in the sixth inning. Texas again was first on the scoreboard, tallying all four of its runs in the third inning.

Kansas (15-32, 3-12 Big 12) tested Texas in the seventh, however. Madison Sykes led off the inning with a double to center field and was brought home on a Tarin Travieso single to center.

Sydnee Ramsey eventually came through with a RBI base knock, but the comeback bid was halted after that.

Kansas will travel to Iowa State next weekend.
