The Big 12 named Devonté Graham its Player of the Week Monday morning, after the sophomore guard from Kansas helped the Jayhawks go 2-0 against top-10 opponents West Virginia and Oklahoma.
Graham put up a career-high 27 points at OU on Saturday, when he shot 8-for-13 from the floor and drained six of his nine three-point attempts.
The second-year guard from Raleigh, N.C., carried KU’s offense late in Norman, Okla., scoring 16 points in the final eight minutes, and he spent much of the game guarding the conference’s likely player of the year, Buddy Hield.
For the week, Graham averaged 18.5 points and 3.5 rebounds and made 57.9 percent of his shot attempts — including a 61.5-percent clip from long distance.
The Jayhawks (21-4 overall, 9-3 Big 12) return to the floor Monday night, to play host to Oklahoma State (12-13, 3-9).
