? Jessie Roane drove in the game-winner in a walk-off, extra-inning game early Friday, then Alicia Pille threw a one-hit shutout in the afternoon as Kansas University softball picked up a pair of victories in the North Florida tournament.

KU beat Stony Brook 5-4 in 10 innings Friday morning and then North Florida 1-0.

Against Stony Brook, Kansas trailed 2-0 after four innings but tied it with single runs in each the fifth and sixth innings. Twice Stony Brook went up in extra innings, and twice Kansas responded before winning it in the 10th on Roane’s RBI single to third.

Kansas outhit Stony Brook, 13-4, but stranded 12 runners.

Against the Ospreys, Pille (9-0) carried a no-hitter through six innings, but lost the bid when she gave a leadoff single in the seventh.

Kansas scored its lone run in the first.

“That was very stressful,” KU coach Megan Smith said. “Offensively we came out hot that first inning and I thought, ‘Okay, here we go,’ and then we just absolutely went to sleep and relied on Pille. She had a great game — the best I’ve seen her throw all year. You can’t put it all on her shoulders, but we did that today and can’t do that again.”

KU (16-1) will face Siena at 9 a.m. and UNF at 1:30 p.m. today.
