Colorado tennis drops Jayhawks

? Kansas University won the doubles points, and Maria Jose Cardona won at No. 1 singles, but the Jayhawks dropped a 4-2 tennis decision to Colorado on Sunday.

Cardona beat Julyette Steur, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3, and teamed with Maria Belen Ludueña to edge Colorado’s Steur-Kyra Wojcik, 7-6, at No. 1 doubles. Kansas won the doubles point after Madison Harrison-Smith Hinton claimed a 6-3 win over Alexandra Aiello-Ashley Tiefel at No. 2, but the Buffs swept the Nos. 2-5 singles spots.

Kansas’ Alexis Czapinski was leading Eric Strachan, 6-4, 5-4, before their match was halted after the Buffs clinched.

KU will host Iowa on March 2.
