Surprise, Ariz. ? Washington State rallied with four runs in the seventh inning to hand Kansas University’s baseball team an 8-5 defeat Saturday night.
KU collected 14 hits but stranded 12 runners.
“I was pleased with the way we swung the bat,” KU coach Ritch Price said. “When you get 14 hits and score only five runs … we made a couple bad base-running plays.”
The Jayhawks (2-4) will meet Oregon State at noon today at Surprise Stadium.
