? No. 2-ranked LSU completed a sweep of the Kansas University baseball team, dealing the Jayhawks a 7-4 loss Sunday at Alex Box Stadium.

The Jayhawks jumped out to a 3-1 lead after four innings, but the Tigers tied it in the fifth and took the lead with a four-run sixth.

Senior Blair Beck collected two of the Jayhawks’ three hits, and belted his first home run of the season with a solo shot in the fourth inning.

“I came into the dugout and got ready and (assistant coach) Ritchie Price told me, ‘have a good at-bat right here,’ and that was all I was really thinking about,” Beck said. “They command the zone really well and don’t give you much to hit, but I got a pitch I could handle and got lucky.”

After giving up a run in the first, KU starting pitcher Sean Rackoski kept LSU’s offense in check until running into trouble in the fifth. Junior Sam Gilbert came on in relief of Rackoski, but could not tame the Tigers, giving up four runs in 1 1/3 innings.
