Kansas University sophomore point guard Frank Mason III scored five points in the Jayhawks’ 74-64 home win against Baylor Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse, breaking a streak of 21 consecutive games in double figures.
Mason is one of four Jayhawks to record 21-straight games of 10-plus points in the Self era. He joined Wayne Simien (26, 2004-05), Thomas Robinson (27, 2011-12) and Marcus Morris (27, 2010-11).
Praise: KU freshman big man Cliff Alexander on Landen Lucas going 5-for-5 from the free throw line: “I’ve seen him make 25 free throws in a row before.”
Sophomore guard Wayne Selden Jr. also complimented Lucas’ nine-point, four rebound performance.
“Landen has been really solid all year, really efficient all year. He is a big body, can really rebound the ball, is a great passer out of the post. He does a lot of things well for us,” Selden said.
