Lubbock, Texas ? Kansas University collected 13 hits — including three home runs — but managed to drop an 8-7 Big 12 softball decision to Texas Tech on Friday at Rocky Johnson Field.
Maddie Stein, Daniella Chavez and Jessie Roane each homered for KU (32-6 overall, 3-4 Big 12), but Tech (17-23, 1-6) hit three of its own.
“I don’t think our pitching showed up tonight, and that can’t happen in Big 12 games,” KU coach Megan Smith said.
The series will resume with a single game at 4 p.m. today.
