Kansas University women’s basketball forward Chelsea Gardner was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s All-Region team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Gardner, a junior who was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, is one of seven nominees from the Big 12 among 52 finalists for All-American honors.
Gardner was fourth in the Big 12 in both scoring (17.1 points per game) and rebounding (8.4) while shooting 56.1 percent from the field, the second-best mark in the league.
