KU’s Hanna atop Kansas Amateur Match Play

? Kansas University golfer Chase Hanna finished first in stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Kansas Amateur and defeated his first opponent in match play on Thursday at Mission Hills Country Club.

Hanna, the defending Kansas Amateur champion, shot rounds of 64 and 68 to finish 8-under and claim the top seed in match play, which continues today through Sunday.

Conrad Roberts (T21, 73-72-145) and Kit Grove (T21, 73-72-145) were the only Lawrence residents among the 64 qualifiers for match play. Roberts and Grove both advanced into today’s Round of 32 with victories on Thursday.

Lawrence residents among the 180-golfer field who failed to qualify for match play included: Steve Randall (71-79-150); Bradley Lane (72-80-152) and Ryley Haas (74-81-155).
