By Staff Reports     Jul 25, 2014

Former Kansas University graduate assistant Steve Wallace will rejoin the KU women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, KU head coach Bonnie Henrickson announced Thursday.

Wallace, who was on staff from 2007-09 and has spent the past two seasons as boys basketball coach at Kansas City’s Piper High, replaces Shay Robinson on the Jayhawks’ bench.

“From a player development standpoint, Steve is a great teacher of the game, who brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the gym,” Henrickson said. “Steve is great at building relationships when it comes to recruiting. He has a tireless work ethic and a passion for the game. We’re happy to have him on board working with the guards.”

Wallace earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from KU and worked for short periods on staffs at Tennessee Tech and the University of Rhode Island.
