By Staff Reports     Jul 25, 2014

Kansas University sophomore Aurélie Gagnet was one of 21 players selected to the U20 French National Soccer Team, which will compete in the U20 World Cup next month in Canada.

Gagnet, a KU defender who was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team last year, plans to rejoin the Jayhawks immediately after the World Cup. France opens on Aug. 6 against Costa Rica. Kansas holds its first exhibition game Aug. 15 against South Dakota State and will open its regular season — at its new home in Rock Chalk Park — on Aug. 22 against Wyoming.
