? Kansas University sophomore pitcher Kelsey Kessler earned her second victory of the weekend against SIU Edwardsville, 5-0 on Sunday at the Jackson State softball tournament.

Kessler, who went 10 innings in a 4-3 victory against SIUE on Friday, retired 13 straight batters to close out the game on Sunday. She allowed just two hits, walked one and struck out five to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Senior outfielder Taylor Hatfield had three of KU’s nine hits and one RBI in a four-run fifth inning. In the same inning, with the bases loaded, junior infielder Chanin Naudin smashed a two-out double into left-centerfield, clearing the bases. KU’s only other run came in the fourth inning when sophomore infielder Chaley Brickey took advantage of an SIUE fielding error.

The Jayhawks (8-5) travel to Carbondale, Ill., on March 1 for the Coach B Classic.
