KU golfer in 10th; team in seventh

— Kansas University freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a 1-under 71 and is tied for 10th after Monday’s first round of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club.

As a team, KU shot a 9-over 297 and is tied for seventh with Coastal Carolina in the 18-team field.

Host Oklahoma leads with a 284.

Other KU scores: Meghan Potee, tied for 27th, 74; Thanuttra Boonraksasat and Gabby DiMarco, tied for 53rd, 76; Audrey Yowell, tied for 65th,78; and Ann-Kathrin Wuensch, tied for 70th, 79.

The tournament continues today.

Thank you for stating how many teams are in the field. In the past, many stories list our team standings in events like this and without knowing how many teams are in it, leaves the reader guessing.

Seems like the non-revenue sports outlook is getting brighter every day. Way to go Jayhawks!
