KU golfer leads; Jayhawks in 2nd

— Kansas University junior Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a 3-under 69 to lead all golfers after the first round of the Price’s “Give ’Em Five” Intercollegiate on Monday at the N.M. State University Golf Course. KU sits in second place in the team standings.

KU junior Meghan Potee is tied for 10th individually after shooting a 1-over par 73, while sophomore Gabby DiMarco is tied for 22nd with a 75. Freshman Thanuttra Boonraksasat is two shots behind DiMarco at 77, tied for 38th, and senior Audry Yowell shot an 81 and is tied 66th.

The second of three rounds will be played today.

I thought the LJW had changed their policy and done a nice job recently of listing the overall number of teams so we could get a context.

Is it too much to ask to have that be a consistent policy? A JUNIOR HIGH site would know enough to put in such basic information. Sheesh!

All carping aside, nice job, 'Hawks.

I've given up on the LJW correctly reporting results for sports like golf, cross-country, swimming where the number of participating teams is not fixed. I just go to KU Athletics. Thirteen teams, BTW.

I'm guessing this is the women's golf team. Might be good information for the next article. Or Name Class Place Score (and tomorrow total score next to it). Yupaporn Kawinpakorn Jr 1 69 Meghan Potee Jr 10 73 ...

Just a thought. You could actually state who is leading and how many points back we are.
