Kansas tennis 3-2 at tournament

Kansas University’s tennis team went 3-2 in singles competition Sunday, the final day of the KU Tennis Invitational at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Karen Hernandez, Monica Pezzotti and Victoria Khanevskaya claimed victories for the Jayhawks.

Hernandez placed fifth in Singles Draw C.

Pezzotti won her final match in Singles Draw A.

In an extra singles match, Khanevskaya defeated UMKC’s Suzan Lisenby, 6-1, 6-1.

Sophomore Amy Barnthouse fell in the championship match of Singles Draw E to Marquette’s Tina Radan, 6-1, 6-3, to take second place in the draw.
