Berry gets record, KU soccer wins, 6-1

? Kansas University junior Whitney Berry became the school’s single-season record holder in assists in the Jayhawks’ 6-1 Big 12 soccer victory over Iowa State on Sunday.

Berry had her 13th assist to surpass Hilla Rantala’s record of 12 in 2001. Berry also scored a goal for the Jayhawks (11-7 overall, 3-4 Big 12). ISU fell to 8-9-1 and 1-6.

Kansas’ other goal scorers were senior Kortney Clifton, sophomore Amy Grow and freshmen Ingrid Vidal, Liana Salazar and Caroline Van Slambrouck.

The Cyclones managed to out-shoot KU, 19-17, but put eight on frame compared to the Jayhawks’ 10 shots on goal.

The Jayhawks will wrap up their regular season when they host Oklahoma at 3 p.m. Friday. After the match, KU will honor seniors Kelsey Clifton, Kortney Clifton and Jordyn Perdue.
