NU volleyball rallies past KU

KU took the first set but then was squashed by the No. 4 team in the country, Nebraska. KU volleyball fell to 10-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

— Kansas University won the first set, but fourth-ranked Nebraska rallied for a 3-1 Big 12 volleyball victory over the Jayhawks on Wednesday.

NU won, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-18.

Kansas fell to 10-4 overall, 1-2 in the Big 12. Nebraska improved to 11-2 and 3-0 with its 10th straight victory.

Kansas freshman libero Brianne Riley led all players with 18 digs in her sixth consecutive match with 10-plus digs. Senior Melissa Manda recorded 13 digs in the effort.

well, we won a set...that's good. the bad news is this team is like the football team....playing good teams tough (NU), losing to teams they should beat (KSU) and beating teams they should probably lose to (A&M). they are all over the place for sure.

the next three games should determine the season...and KU should win all three (at CU, home MU and at TTech). If we're not 4-2 in the league, then another disappointing year awaits. Opportunity awaits....go Jayhawks!
