Monica Engelman scored 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting, leading the Kansas women’s basketball team to an 80-46 victory over Washburn in the Jayhawks’ final preseason game.
Carolyn Davis added 15 points (7-for-9 shooting) and 11 rebounds in 23 minutes.
KU led just 37-27 at halftime before outscoring WU, 43-19, in the second half.
The Jayhawks made 32 of their 64 field-goal attempts (50 percent) while holding the Lady Blues to 36-percent shooting.
KU will open its season on Sunday, Nov. 14, with a home game against South Dakota.
