Goodyear, Ariz. ? Nate Barbee and Alex Gutesha each fired first-round 68s to lead the Kansas University men’s golf team into eighth place after one round at the Desert Shootout at Palm Valley Golf Course.
Barbee recorded his 10th under-par round of the year. Barbee and Gutesha finished Thursday’s round tied for fourth.
As a team, KU shot a 285 and sits in eighth place out of the 17 teams.
The second round will be played today.
