Chattanooga, Tenn. ? Kansas University’s softball team had a rough first day Friday at the Frost Classic.
After dropping a 7-2 decision to Kentucky early, the Jayhawks were blanked, 6-0, by host Chattanooga late.
In the night game, the Mocs (10-2 and winners of nine straight) scored three in the first and three in the third to put it away early. Chattanooga limited KU (5-7) to five hits.
Alex Jones led KU offensively, going 2-for-3, and Allie Clark doubled.
Against UK (10-2), Clark and Sara Ramirez homered, but KU managed just one other hit.
Kansas will face Tennessee Tech and Lipscomb today.
