Ames, Iowa ? Two Kansas University athletes won Big 12 titles and two school records fell Friday at the Big 12 Indoor Championships.
Senior Jordan Scott won his fourth consecutive pole-vault crown. Scott is the only athlete in Kansas history to win four conference championships in the same event.
Alena Krechyk became the first woman in KU history to win a league title in the weight throw. She set a school record in the event — 19.54 meters.
It was also a record-breaking day for the women’s distance medley relay squad, as Rebeka Stowe, Taissa Makhmayeva, Cori Christensen and Lauren Bonds combined for a time of 11:23.08, besting the previous school record by more than seven seconds.
