Lubock, Texas ? The Kansas University women’s golf team placed fourth Saturday after two rounds of the Big 12 Championship.
KU junior Meghan Gockel is in seventh place individually after firing a three-over 76.
The Jayhawks shot a 310 in round two and have a 622 two-round total. KU is one stroke behind third-place Oklahoma heading into today’s final round at The Rawls Course.
Oklahoma State held onto its lead in the team standings at 597.
“We held our own today,” coach Erin O’Neil said. “We are in a good position heading into (today). We just have to stay patient and stay focused.”
KU sophomores Sydney Wilson and Meghna Bal are tied for 18th place with two-round totals of 156. Rounding out the lineup were Emily Powers (159, 35th individually) and Grace Thiry (161, 41st).
Ashley Freeman of Texas A&M and Caroline Hedwall of Oklahoma State are tied for first individually with two-round totals of 145.
