St, Paul, Minn. ? The Kansas University rowing team fell to No. 20 Minnesota on Saturday. The Jayhawks picked up one victory, as the fifth Varsity Four boat won the first race at 7:49.0, ahead of Minnesota’s 7:50.4.
In the First Varsity Four, Minnesota (7:10.2) finished 17.5 seconds ahead of Kansas (7:27.7).
In the final race of the day, the First Varsity Eight, Minnesota bested Kansas by 16.7 seconds with a time of 6:20.2. The Jayhawks crossed the finished line at 6:36.9.
Kansas will play host to the first-ever Big 12 Conference Championship on Saturday at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kan. The Jayhawks will compete alongside Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas.
