KU rowers fare well at Head of Hooch

? Kansas University’s Open Eight boat won, and KU rowers

LlynnAnn Laugesen and Elisheva Patterson placed 1-2 in the Lightweight Single event Sunday at the Head of the Hooch.

KU’s Annie Sims was third in the Championship Single event in 18:56.3.

Laugesen won her event in 19:02.3, and Patterson was runner-up in 19:53.2

Kansas’ Brooke Castrop placed third in the Novice Single in 20:48.5.

KU’s Open Four entries placed second and third.

“We had a good weekend,” KU coach Rob Catloth said. “We started off the weekend with a good Saturday and followed that up with an even stronger Sunday.”

KU will head to Manhattan on Saturday, when it will face Kansas State in the Sunflower Showdown, the final event of the fall rowing season.
