Kansas soccer denied NCAA tourney bid

By Staff     Nov 7, 2006

For the second-straight year, 11 victories were not enough to get Kansas University into the NCAA soccer tournament.

KU finished its season with an 11-7-1 overall record and was fourth in the Big 12 Conference at 6-4.

The Jayhawks beat NCAA-bound Duke, but fell to NCAA teams Cal, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas, all by 1-0 scores.

Four league teams – Texas, OSU, A&M and Colorado – made the 64-team NCAA field. CU ousted Kansas from the league tournament via shootout Wednesday after the teams played to a 1-all tie.
