According to booking information from the Douglas County Jail, John Randle has been arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with the duties of a police officer.
Randle, 19, was booked into the Douglas County Jail just after 3 a.m. Friday according to police reports. His name and address match listings in the Kansas University student directory as the same John Randle who is the KU football team’s second leading rusher.

Sgt. Mike Patrick of the Lawrence Police Department said police were called to The Granada, 1020 Mass, just before 1 a.m. after a fight broke out inside the downtown nightclub. Employees removed those involved, but the fight continued in a nearby parking lot. As officers arrived, they observed a black male, later identified as Randle, yelling.
Police said Randle ran when officers approached him. He was later caught in the 1000 block of Kentucky. Police said he was also in possession of someone else’s driver’s license.
Randle was arrested in November on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage of property. Charges were never filed in connection with that incident.
Jayhawk football head coach Mark Mangino was out of the office Friday and unavailable for comment. KU sports information staff had not received any information yet on the matter.
