Men’s basketball recruiting update

Leo Criswell, a 6-8 junior from Kansas City Piper High made an unofficial recruiting visit to KU for Monday’s Missouri game and sat behind the Jayhawks’ bench. His early list includes KU, Arizona, Arizona State, North Carolina, Oklahoma and others.

Here are some recent updates on potential KU men’s basketball recruits.

  • icah Downs, a 6-7 high school junior forward from Bothell, Wash., who is considering KU, Michigan State, Utah, Washington and Washington State, tells rivals.com he will make an official recruiting visit to KU.
  • he Jayhawks also will receive a visit from Austin Jackson, 6-1 from Denton, Texas. Jackson is considering KU, Oklahoma, Illinois, Cincinnati and Georgia Tech.
  • Three juniors have told Shay Wildeboor of rivals.com they want to visit KU in the near future. They are: Tyler Smith, a 6-7 junior forward from Pulaski, Tenn.; Joe Darger, a 6-7 forward from Riverton, Utah and Theo Davis, a 6-10 center from Bayside, N.Y. Smith is considering KU, UCLA, Tennessee, Duke, North Carolina and others; Darger is looking at KU, UConn, Gonzaga, Arizona State, BYU, Utah and others; Davis has a list of KU, UConn, Ohio State, Syracuse, Texas, UCLA, Duke, Florida, North Carolina, Pitt, Virginia and others.
