Nikki White, an oft-injured junior on Kansas University’s women’s basketball team, will not return for her senior season.
White, a 6-foot-3 center from Memphis, Tenn., has been hampered by injuries throughout her career. She has appeared in 20 of KU’s 24 games this season and is averaging 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
“Nikki is one of the most courageous individuals I know,” KU coach Marian Washington said. “I have a lot of respect for her and her willingness to help our program. We wish her success in the future.”
White is on track to graduate in May with a degree in psychology and plans to attend graduate school next fall.
White will be honored during Senior Day on Saturday, when the Jayhawks play host to Missouri.
