Bears trim KU netters

Southwest Missouri State won four of six singles matches to nip Kansas, 4-3, in a women’s college tennis dual on Sunday.

Senior Monica Sekulov and junior Lisa Mallaiah won their singles matches for Kansas.

KU swept the three doubles matches. Courtney Steinbock and Kristen Steinbock won at No. 1. Sekulov and Cheryl Mallaiah won at No. 2. Haylock and Lorenz won at No. 3.

Next for KU is the five-team Jayhawk Classic at Alvamar on Feb. 9-11.
