1 - Svi Mykhailiuk: Missed his final shot when a drive trickled out. Otherwise he would have had a perfect shooting day. He made 6 of 7 shots, including 5 of 5 three-pointers. His pull-up jumper inside the semi-circle reeked of confidence. Looks more sure of himself than ever. All in all, not bad for an 18-year-old basketball player.

2 - Frank Mason III: Hustled down a loose ball to keep it from going out of bounds and made the pass that was available, a behind-the-back beauty to Devonté Graham, who fed Wayne Selden Jr., who completed the play with a reverse layup. Also made 3 of 5 three-pointers on way to 16-point, two-steal day.

3 - Jamari Traylor: Made play of the day when he ripped away offensive rebound on missed free throw and immediately fed Svi for a three. Produced three points, three rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot in 13 energetic minutes off the bench.

4 - Devonté Graham: Four assists against just one turnover and two steals compensated for off day from three (1 for 4). Showed serious quickness in finishing drive to hoop through traffic.

5 - Landen Lucas: Produced seven points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes.

6 - Cheick Diallo: Hustled his way to two points, six rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal in 13 minutes.

7 - Perry Ellis: Couldn’t get shots to drop (4 of 13) and scored just eight points with five boards in 28 minutes.

8 - Wayne Selden Jr.: Slumping shooters go through phases that leave them aiming instead of shooting. Selden’s in one of those phases. He made 1 of 8 field goals, 1 of 4 free throws and missed all four three-point attempts. Didn’t show great shot selection in this one.

9 - Carlton Bragg: Turned beautiful post feed from Brannen Greene into two points and picked up a rebound in five-minute run.

10 - Brannen Greene: Limited to three minutes, he made the only two shots he took, both free throws.

Wish Wayne would stop trying to force the 3. He doesn't need it for us to win.

Wayne needs to play under control as he did in Korea.

Last week the topic was Svi gaining confidence , I posted that I felt Svi had the confidence but that HCBS had to gain confidence in Svi .....I think Coach Self is about there. But now its Wayne who Coach Self should have concerns about .but with the emergence of Svi it has given Coach Self another option when Wayne is struggling. Hopefully Wayne can get his MOJO back we will need it as well as our other players

I think it went both ways. But Svi needed to see confidence from HCBS (minutes) in order to get his confidence up. Now they've both got it. Agree with Selden. As great as Svi has been playing if we want a deep run it'll depend on having Selden as well as Svi (and the rest of this very well rounded team)

As usual different players standout each game. This squad has quite a few that can shine which makes better team morale. Don't expect Selden to play the same next game. He might just pretend grandpa is there and will scorch the nets. Also maybe Svi will miss a few.
