Kansas center Jeff Withey earned Big 12 player of the week honors, the conference announced Monday. Withey shares this week's award with Kansas State guard Angel Rodriguez.

Withey posted 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as the Jayhawks recorded wins over KSU and Texas last week. The senior shot 47.6 percent from the field and made 80 percent of his free throws while blocking seven shots and grabbing six steals.

Withey posted a double-double in both games, finishing with 17 points and 10 boards against the Wildcats and following with 15 points and 10 rebounds against the Longhorns.

Withey also became the Big 12 career leader in blocked shots with his 265th rejection in Saturday's game against Texas.

+1. How can Rodríguez even be considered after the beating they received from KU?

How many of his blocks in the Kstate game were from Angels shots? Or how many of his shots did he alter?

Congrats, Mr. W!

I remember when you first arrived in Lawrence. You were not the same Jeff Withey that you are today!

Someone close to me once said, "you can rest in the box (coffin)!"

No time to rest, keep up the great work!

Big 12 refs are swallowing their whistles so that when big 12 teams play big 10 schools in the tournament, they aren't bullied around. big 10 ball is way more physical than what big 12 ball was a year or more ago.

Averaging 17/10 today is like averaging 20/14 even 5 years ago, given the whistle swallowing trend line.

Wouldn't he avg 10 rebounds if he had 10 the KSU game and 10 the texas game? I thought he had 11 in the texas game.
