Is this list based on a historical perspective, last season only (parenthesis of record) or for the upcoming year?

Regardless, it seems sort of 'off' to have KU at 3rd if this list is generated using the first two options.

All of the comments seem to be regarding next year. Maybe the record was to help show movement from last year to next.

This is not meant to be an article. It's meant to accompany the "Red River Tossup" article, which was the feature in the July 16 edition of the Big 12 Spotlight. This is a simple projection for the upcoming 2008-2009 basketball season.
